  Enzymes In Textile Industry

Enzymes are a very effective tool for providing eco-friendly solutions in Textile Industry. Right from fabric pretreatment to finishing or garment pretreatment to finishing, various looks and effects can be created replacing basic and specialty chemicals. With extensive R & D and expertise, Advanced Enzytech Solutions Ltd (AESL) is offering complete solution from pretreatment to finishing in garment and fabric finishing stage.

Primarily, enzymes are being used in fabric processing for desizing, scouring, degumming, biopolishing, printwash and bleach cleanup depending on the type of fibre. Whereas in wet garment processing, enzymes are being used in denims and cottons for desizing, scouring, biowashing, biopolishing, bleaching and stonewashing. AESL is one shop stop for all products required for textile processing.

Desizing is a very important process to remove sizing components from the textile. The sizing material is applied on yarn during weaving to strengthen it and reduce wear and tear. Improper size removal shall result in uneven and inconsistent finish. AESL has introduced RAPIDENZ series of desizing enzymes. RAPIDENZ COOL (30 - 70°C), SUPERSIZE (medium temperature 60 - 90°C) and RAPIDENZ HT (stable at high temperature above 85°C). To replace use of hazardous chemicals and impart high quality finish, bioscouring enzymes can be used to finish cotton. Use of alkaline pectinase is very important. AESL has designed ADDSCOUR for fabric scouring. It imparts soft handle, better fabric strength retention and increased dye pickup.

The look of denim garment depends entirely on different finish. The use of various cellulases plays an important role to impart different look and finish to the garment. The performance of a product during garment washing depends not only on the enzymes but also on the ingredients used in the formulation. AESL has done extensive research to impart unique look to the garments using range of products like DENICELL, FADEX, ADDCOOL, ENZYSTONE and NEUTRAWASH series of enzymes. Another major application for enzyme based formulations in the Textile Industry is Biopolishing. AESL has SEBRITE, DENIBRADE, DN 02X5 series of enzymes to impart biopolishing effect with different finish on various fibers.

After carrying out scouring using hydrogen peroxide, it is very important to decompose residual hydrogen peroxide on fabric. If hydrogen peroxide is not removed properly, it will result in uneven dyeing. AESL has introduced ADDOX series of enzymes for hydrogen peroxide decomposition.

Degumming is the basic step for silk fiber preparation. Silk fiber has outer protective layer of Sericin. Removal of sericin will help for further finishing of silk to impart even dyeing and softness with less damage to fiber over chemical processing. AESL has introduced ADDSILK for silk treatment.
